Q: Why should
I hire Washington Tree & Lawn Care, instead of doing it myself?
A: If you like working in your yard, and
it looks exactly the way you want it to, you probably don't need
us. But if you want a beautiful yard—without the hassle—talk to
us. If you've said any of the following, it might be time to pick
up the phone:
- I hate the moss! And the weeds! And the brown spots! I just
want a green lawn!
- How come there are holes in all the leaves?
- Isn't this azalea bush supposed to bloom?
Our customer service technicians
are wizards at analyzing your lawn, trees, and shrubs and developing
a customized program that will make your yard gorgeous year-round.
Q: Do I have to sign up for a program?
A: No. We don’t believe in pressuring customers
to sign up for a cookie-cutter program. Every home’s landscaping
is unique. Your technician will do a complete analysis of your fruit
trees, flowering trees, other trees, shrubs, and lawn, and will
recommend services tailored to your yard. You’re free to choose
the services you want, a la carte. For instance, if you want weed
control for only your lawn or driveway, that’s what we’ll do. If
you want us to spray one rhododendron for mildew, that’s what we’ll
do.
Q: What natural products do you use?
A: We have great success with fish, seaweed,
chicken byproducts, and essential oils. Seaweed and chicken byproducts
are used on lawns, while seaweed and fish is used on plant material.
Q: Are the products used in your natural
program certified organic?
A: Yes. All products used in our natural
programs are certified by the Washington
State Department of Agriculture for organic food production.
Q: Is there any odor associated with the
natural products?
A: Odors may linger for a short time after
the applications of products such as seaweed and fish fertilizer,
but we mix in essential oils that mask most of the unwanted scent.
Q: Will the natural spray program control
insects?
A: The natural spray program promotes a
plant’s natural defense mechanisms to resist insects and disease.
Q: Do you offer organic moss control and
weed control?
A: An organic moss control product is under
development; organic products for weed control have not yet been
developed. We do, however, offer every organic product that has
been proven to work.
Q: Does the natural program control crane
flies?
A: No.
Q: How are your services regulated?
A: Washington Tree & Lawn Care is licensed
by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Our technicians
are licensed to apply products, and they are re-tested and re-certified
every five years. All of our products are registered by the Environmental
Protection Agency and are approved for state use by the Washington
State Department of Agriculture.
Q: How soon after a lawn application can
my children and pets walk on the grass?
A: You need to wait until the spray has
dried—usually 10-20 minutes. Our products are thoroughly tested
and deemed safe around pets and children.
Q: What services does your typical customer
sign up for?
A: Most of our customers want their yard
to look good year-round, so they request 4-to-7 visits per year.
|
Q: How affordable
are your services?
A: Very. Most
people are surprised when we give them their quote. Because your
landscaping is different than your neighbors’, your fees will be
based on the type, size, shape, and amount of much plant material
in your yard. Your technician will give you a free assessment and
a customized, competitive estimate.
Q: Do you offer both traditional and organic
applications?
A: Yes. Washington Tree & Lawn Care is on
the cutting edge of researching natural products that work best
on lawns, trees, and shrubs. You can choose from among our traditional
(synthetic) applications and natural (organic) products.
Q: Do your natural/organic treatments cost
more?
A: No. We use price-competitive organic
products so costs for our natural and traditional programs are similar.
Q: Are there labels and MSDS sheets available
for your organic products?
A: There must be an EPA Registration number
for a product to have a label and MSDS sheet. A label or MSDS sheet
does not prove that a product meets the organic criteria.
Q: How do you spray for roof moss?
A: We control roof moss, lichen, and algae
by spraying on a product that contains zinc and fungicides. We do
not pressure-wash your roof.
Q: Do you guarantee your services?
A: While we can't control the exact result
that will come from use of our applications on your yard, our goal
is your complete satisfaction. If you ever have a question or concern
about the results of our service, call us. You technician will respond
quickly with an in-person visit to your home to help troubleshoot
specific issues. There is no extra charge for this service.
Q: Bugs are crawling around on my yard.
Can you help me get rid of them?
A: Yes. Many of our customers hate spiders
and insects, so we offer stand-alone pest control services. We will
spray the outside of your home or the ground and your yard (depending
on the season), for ants, fleas, spiders, crane flies, and weavils.
Q: My trees and shrubs need pest control.
Should both my newly-planted and my mature trees and shrubs get
treated?
A: Ornamentals tend to have more pest problems
than do native trees and shrubs, which generally have few pests,
other than caterpillars, aphids, and weavils.
Q: Will you spray organic products on my
vegetable garden and herbs?
A: Natural products are beneficial for your
garden; we will spray your garden if requested.
Q: How soon after a lawn application should
I water?
A: The fertilizer should receive water after
the application.
Q: Can I eat my fruit the same day my trees
are sprayed?
A: Yes!
